Q: WHAT QUALIFICATION DO YOU HAVE?
I attended Florida Atlantic University and continued courses at Gwinnett Technical College where I became a certified Interior Designer. I’ve continued my education throughout the years to hone my skills, keep up with the latest trends, and ensure that I’m providing my clients with the best quality services at an affordable price.
Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DECORATOR AND A DESIGNER?
You may have occasionally heard the terms for interior decorator and interior designer interchanged. However, there is a difference between the two titles. An interior decorator generally refers to someone who deals with furniture and decor only. Education and training are not necessary to work as a decorator, which is why most start as hobbyists in a different career.
An interior designer is a specialized career field, requiring a certain combined level of education, work experience, and licensing. An interior designer may create spaces for the inside of a commercial office building, design the lighting for a restaurant, or design the entirety of a home from the layout and electrical plan all the way down to the rugs and accessories. Interior designers even work with builders and architects to ensure that the exterior complements the interior design of a commercial or residential structure. An interior designer may also deal with issues of health, safety and welfare; i.e. accessibility and building codes, especially in a commercial setting.
Q: WHY DO I NEED AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
Whether you need a little help or a lot, the advice and guidance of an Interior Designer is invaluable. Having a professional Interior Designer on your team who has the knowledge and experience of countless similar projects as well as the information, resources and expertise for finding the exact products and trades people you need to get the best result for your project is priceless. Working with an Interior Designer will help you to move seamlessly and efficiently through the project, as well as help you prevent costly mistakes or side-steps along the way.
Q: WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
While a good designer can help you at any stage of the design, it is most advantageous for you to begin your work with a designer at the earliest stages of the project. As with almost any process, having a good plan in place as early as possible is the best route to success. Nature's Interior can take your project from the initial point of gathering information on the requirements and needs for your space, through design development, purchasing and installation for every detail of your project – all the way to completion. A perfect final result is evidence of a plan well thought out and well executed from the initial ideas to the final details.
IMPORTANT: Hiring an Interior Designer several months prior to your project start date will not cost you any extra money, it will simply guarantee your spot on their calendar!!

Q: I LIVE OUTSIDE THE GA AREA. CAN YOU STILL WORK FOR ME?
Absolutely! We offer a wide range of services for eDesign or design at a distance. This is perfect for clients who are not local but still would like a design from us. In addition, all services listed are 100% customizable so please do not hesitate contact us to discuss your design needs.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer in person design services for those outside of our area (GA) at this time. However, our eDesign services should cover any of your needs.View our blog post to read about the differences between interior design and edesign.
Q: I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH A DESIGNER BEFORE. HOW DOES THIS WORK?
I’m so glad you asked! Below is a step by step sample of what our process looks like.
1. An Initial Design Call (15-30 minute) phone conversation to discuss scope of work
2. A consultation is schedule to view the space and answer a detailed questionnaire
3. You’ll receive a Welcome Kit complete with proposals and information to help in the decision making process
4. Upon acceptance, the agree is signed and payment is submitted
AND THEN THE FUN BEGINS! We’ll be in touch once it’s received about the particulars of your project and the next steps!
Q: WHAT DOES AN INTERIOR DESIGNER USUALLY COST?
This depends on the Designer's level of experience and involvement. As a general rule of thumb, it's best to expect an Interior Designer to cost 10% - 20% of your project budget. If your designer is also acting as your General Contractor and/or Project Management, plan on an additional 10%. However, if your designer is playing more of a consultant role than a hands-on role, design fees can fall under the initial 10% mark, total. Nature's Interiors' services fall into all of these brackets, depending on the project needs.
Q: WHY DO I NEED A CONSULTATION?
Conducting a consultation allows both the designer and the client to decide whether entering a contract together is the best option. It’s important to make sure that the designer understands the client’s wants and their preferred design style to maximize a successful relationship. A wide range of topics is covered during the consultation including general information about the project, scope of work to be complete, timeline requirements, client’s style, client’s likes and dislikes, changes to be made and other pertinent information. In addition, we’ll walk through your space and take plenty of notes and pictures (with your permission).

Q: HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR MY CONSULTATION?
You can share your Instagram, Pinterest, Houzz or other inspiration links.
You may also collect clippings from magazines and/or photos that appeal to you.
Be thinking about colors, styles and looks that you like or are drawn to.
Know your wants, needs, and what the space should do for you when finished.
Think about your time frame - when do you want to start? Do you have finish date goals?
Have a budget in mind and be honest about it with your designer. Having a ball park figure is a good start.
Get excited! Then we can have that in common from the very beginning.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CONSULTATION?
After the consult, you will receive your Welcome Kit. In this you’ll get information about Nature's Interior to assist with the decision making process, what to expect working with a decorator, your proposals, our agreement and any other pertinent information. For new construction, renovations, full room re-designs, you’ll also receive a moodboard.
If you choose to hire us, you’ll pay the retainer, sign the agreement and send it back to us. Once that has been complete, we’ll contact you to begin working with you to create the design of your dream.
Q: WHAT PARTS OF THE RENOVATION PROCESS DO YOU ASSIST WITH?
What we offer is 100% customizable and depends on our client’s needs. Option include: creating a floor plan, textile selection, assistance with flooring, plumbing, light fixtures, helping locate a contractor or subcontractors, furniture layout plan, decorating or redecorating of the space, adding accessories, custom window treatments, and more. We supply just what’s needed or stay on for the whole during of renovation/construction. The options are truly endless.
Q: DO WE NEED TO USE YOUR CONTRACTOR OR ARCHITECT?
No. Having worked with a number of contractors and architects, we understand that every contractor has a specific skill set, specialty or area of focus. That may not be right for every client’s project. Some contractors excel at ornate crown moulding, which is great, but wouldn’t benefit someone who has an ultra modern style. Because of this, we do not exclusively work with any one company in particular. However, if you are in need of a contractor or architect, we’d be happy to supply you with a list of recommendations for you to interview at your convenience. Additionally, we have a list of local handymen available for much smaller upgrades and/or repairs / maintenance after.
Q: HOW LONG DO PROJECTS NORMALLY LAST?
This depends on a variety of things from scope of work to be done, schedule constraints by the designer, turn around time, delays outside of our control, how quickly decisions are made and so many other things. We will be able to give you a better estimate at the time of consultation. If you have a time sensitive project, please inform us at the time of consult to ensure we can meet your needs.
Q: CAN I CHANGE MY MIND ONCE AN ORDER IS PLACED?
In most cases, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded. In the event the vendor allows such, the item may be returned and receive a refund for the cost of the item minus the purchasing fee and any other applicable fees. Custom orders are non refundable.
Q: WHAT IF I AM UNHAPPY WITH THE DESIGN?
All items and products are sent to you for approval prior to purchasing. The decision is always yours. If you have concerns about an item, please address them right away as cancellations aren’t always allowed. We encourage open and honest communication and appreciate your cooperation.
