Welcome! I'm glad you're here.
I'm Kristina McCalla, and most passionate about helping individuals live happy and healthy in their home.
Home is where love should reside, where memories are created, where friends always belong, and where laughter never ends. Home is not a place... It's a feeling. Think about this: How do you currently feel in your home?
I discovered my love for design early in life. As a child playing with barbie dolls with my sisters, I mean, I'll let you imagine my doll house. Let's just say I always created my sisters' doll houses too. Design really just came natural to me. I met an Architect in the third grade and decided that I wanted to be just like her when I grew up (my class helped her design our neighborhood park!) So I started my education in Architecture at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL and later finished as a certified Interior Designer at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, GA. July 2017 is when my husband, Anthony, and I purchased our first home in Braselton, GA. While designing and decorating, I knew I wanted a home where I would feel a sense of peace and belonging, a place my family and friends would always want to visit, a space that ultimately felt healthy and homey. That led to my curiosity in eco-friendly and sustainable design. I took a niche in just that- designing a healthy home which in return will provide me with a healthy life. I then took a leap of faith and founded Nature's Interior- to share my knowledge and to help YOU design the life you deserve! Happy and healthy at home.
I am a member of the International Association of Professional Interior Decorators and a member of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. I am also in the process of becoming a certified Feng Shui Consultant and Wellness Within your Walls certified. GREAT things ahead and I couldn't be more thrilled! Everyday is another day that I get to learn, on-site and off, and grow into a stronger interior designer, life expert, and business owner.
Other than design, I am a huge lover of good wine and strong coffee, I practice yoga, I wish I can ice skate more often and I love to travel. I enjoy spending time outdoors wherever there's water and I love spending time with my husband, my daughter, and my 2 dogs!
Kristinas Design Philosophy
My love of residential interior design and my design philosophy both revolve around client happiness. "Home" is a place that you're always excited to return to. No matter whether you're coming back after work, after dinner or even after a vacation, you should be happy to be home. I believe that quality design respects both form and function, and that both are essential for a successful end product. Interior Design is much more than an aesthetic transformation - it is the curation of a life-changing experience. As humans, we spend about 90% of our lives indoors; that time is precious and should be treated as such. My goal with every project is not only for my clients to feel that their space functions for them as well as possible, but also that they're able to function as well as possible IN their space. Never underestimate great design!
